Do you love animals and are you interested in making a difference for
the animals in our community? If so, then join our volunteer team!
Get out of the house and help us at the FOSS Animal Adoption Center.
Volunteers are a vital part of The Friends of Stokes Shelter and assist
the shelter in many different ways. The day-to-day operations of the
shelter would not be possible without the help of our wonderful
volunteers. They average 850 hours per month!! Please consider
volunteering with us. It is a wonderful way to give back to your
community while building friendships and having fun.
Whether it’s dog or cat enrichment activities, cleaning, administrative
duties, community outreach, fundraising, etc., FOSS offers a wide
variety of opportunities for animal lovers to use their talents and skills
to help the animals of Stokes County thrive and be happy, and healthy
until they get adopted.
* FOSS offers volunteer hours every day of the year.
* Volunteers must be at least 15 to volunteer independently (with
adequate staff or senior volunteer supervision).
* Children ages 12 to 14 are permitted to volunteer with a trained
parent or legal guardian. Both parent and child must register to
be a volunteer.
* Volunteers must complete the mandatory volunteer orientation
and the online Fear Free Shelter Training Course.
